Juanita Bustos, 64, says that before attending EL ARCA’s Community-Based Adult Service Center programs, she spent most of her time watching hours of television at home. Bored – without a lot to keep her occupied other than the comedies and musicals she avidly watched on TV – Juanita began attending CBAS this year. She says she enjoys activities that occupy her mind such as painting, reading, writing and even bingo.

“I’ve won three times!” Juanita says. Better still, this former factory worker has met five other program participants that she looks forward to spending time with every day. “EL ARCA gives me a chance to make friends,” she explains.
